Tara Minton is an Australian-born harpist, vocalist and composer. Sought after as both a harpist and vocalist, Tara has worked with Björk, ESKA, Stan Sulzmann, Geoff Gascoyne, the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars and the Australian World Orchestra. She leads her own original project as a harpist/vocalist and sings with The Blues and Roots Ensemble, a London-based nine-piece band celebrating the music of Charles Mingus, lead by Ed Babar.
She was a finalist in the World Harp Competition 2021 and invited to perform a full recital at the 2022 World Harp Congress in Cardiff.
Tara has performed at Ronnie Scott’s, the Royal Albert Hall for the BBC Proms and was a featured soloist in a special show celebrating the music of Burt Bacharach, recorded live at Ronnie Scott’s for broadcast on the BBC.
After the success of her 2020 record, Please Do Not Ignore The Mermaid‘, Tara and Ed Babar released an intimate duo album, Two For The Road, in 2022, produced by Geoff Gascoyne and featuring Stan Sulzmann on tenor saxophone. The album is a celebration of the relationship between the harp and double bass, explored through standards from The Great American Songbook and the modern British jazz canon.
Joined by long-term collaborator, David Ingamells, the trio will play repertoire from this record for this performance at Cadogan Hall.
